I’ve been on a serious binge of her books lately, and this one got me right out of the gate. I thought I knew where the story was going—like I always do—but then she hit me with a twist I did not see coming. And I’m not easy to surprise. I’m that reader who picks up on the tiny clues, figures out the ending early, and ruins it for myself half the time. So when an author actually catches me off guard? I'm obsessed.
But it wasn’t just the twist. It was how real it felt. Like, emotionally grounded. There was no dramatic music or flashing lights—just a moment that made both the character and me stop cold.
That’s what makes J. Saman so good. Her books have this way of sliding under your skin without warning. You’re reading, thinking you’ve got the vibe, and then bam—you’re gasping, laughing, or suddenly feeling way too seen.

That was literally when I stopped watching too. Stuff like that makes me love her even more—it’s not just about the romance or the heat (though there’s plenty of that), it’s the little moments that feel like someone wrote your thoughts into the page.
